Unique Challenges
- The existing single storey building was out dated and under performing. The site was originally a railway sidings and the building had been developed in stages, for various different uses.
- The result was a very unsatisfactory premises, consisting of many interconnecting units and rooms, not suitable for a rapidly expanding, modern plastics engineering business.
- The existing building contained asbestos and various problems were discovered in the ground, ie a culvert, old foundations, and contamination.
- The Client had to remain in production, on site, with minimum disruption throughout the project
- There was restricted space on site with only one entrance for client and contractor
- Numerous ovens and machines required by the client had to be professionally re-located during the works
- The client required a practical and smart building, with increased area of warehouse and office space with modern facilities

Testimonial
Kay-Dee Engineering Plastics Ltd. is pleased to confirm that Sutcliffe Construction Ltd. delivered the full construction package, from initial design and planning application through to office fit out and hand over of keys.
Regular site meetings ensured Sutcliffes incorporated our belated design changes and overcame several unforeseen issues.
The phased build progressed smoothly, with minimal disruption on site or to the neighbouring buildings; whilst Health & Safety issues remained an absolute priority.
We are proud of our completed factory and offices – which were completed to schedule and on the agreed budget.
